Betsy Cameron

Betsy Cameron's first effort at creating a poster was in early 1987. It was a black and white photograph picturing two small children sitting on the beach looking out to sea. The simple yet evocative poster, aptly named "Two Children," became Bruce McGaw Graphics # 1 best selling image for over eight years.

Cameron's imagery is simple, consisting mainly of children and landscapes. Gently drawing viewers into a world of contemplation, nostalgia and memories, her photographs appeal to young and old alike.

Cameron began her professional career as a fashion model with the Ford Model Agency in New York City. She appeared on the covers of many leading women's and fashion magazines and worked with many of the world's finest photographers. After ten successful years, Cameron decided to make the transition from one side of the camera to the other. Her first test shots were of Brooke Shields and Lisanne Falk, unknown models at the time. Look magazine picked up the photographs with a four-page spread and Cameron's career as a photographer began. Since that time she has been published in many magazines, has created a line of furniture with her designs and has created several books of her work.
